http://morganna.itgo.com/custom.html Here's the link. Unfortunately I don't know enough about different species of turtles to tell what it is.

Its a pseudemys for sure, HArd to say what kind though, Perhaps Pseudemys rubriventris or
Pseudemys peninsularis

In any case, NOT a box turtle.

Needs an aquatic turtle set up
a few inches of water heated to 68 - 78 degrees (a foot or more of water when its an adult)
a warm basking spot 85 - 90 degrees
a diet of mostly insects and water plants and greens (and some pellets and fruit if you lean that way)
look at

From your picture it's almost positively a juvenile Eastern River Cooter. They grow to be between 9-12 inches. Is it from the wild or from a pet store? And if it is wild, where from? That would be significant in determining that it is definitely an Eastern.

we got him in a river here in NC. it is illegal to sell or buy turtles.

Here is the picture of your turtle. You have to use the URL of the picture only, not of the webpage its on. Try right clicking on the photo, the click properties, and you will see- http://morganna.itgo.com/images/standing_fudge.jpg, thats what you put in the Image URL space.
