substrate cleaning

Hi froggers,

I was wondering if you guys wash/soak or do any kind of cleaning to your moss before using it, I have a couple of bags of dried moss from LLLreptile, and was contemplating soaking them

I like to soak my moss before using so that it holds moisture better. Also it is a good idea to pick through it and check for any branches or other sharp objects.

DEFINITELY soak it and pick through it. Depending on where you got it from, I once found a HUGE SPIDER and her egg sac in a bag of moss I had picked up. If I hadn't cleaned it, I don't even what to know what could have happened!!!
