does anybody know where I can get hands on experience with a dwarf caiman or any type of crocodilian in Pinellas county florida? I'm 19 y/o and addicted to herps and would like to get experience with the animal before makeing any type of decision on obtaining one. Plus in order to get the permit needed for one I need the experience anyways, so if anyone could help me out that would be great. Thanx!

Well, there are a few reptile dealers in the area that deal with crocodilians I'm sure would like a "Volunteer" to help out with the cleaning of cages and such and they can help you get the experience needed...Now over in plant city there is a little known gator farm over there called of all names, The Plant City Gator farm..lol..It is run by the Howell family and if You go there and tell them what you want to do maybe they could help...If you got lucky and got on there you would get a world of experince with several different types of crocs...Been awhile since I've been up that way but Tracy Howell is an old friend of mine who used to supply gators and crocs to an attraction I used to work at about 10 years ago or so...Goodluck in your search
