What's the difference between Anerythristic & Axanthic? np

Anerythristic = no erythrins = no red

Axanthic = no xanthins = no yellow

That the terms are interchangeable in reference to the same gene. This is because, as I understand it, that one gene mutation can knock out red AND yellow pigments.
So you'll hear both terms used in reference to, for example, black and white KSB's. (As for ball pythons I have no idea )

That's so cool man! 2 for the price of one?? LOL! It would be nice if science actually did a study and discerned the color layers in snakes. I've read a few great posts by the Barkers on this subject. Very cool indeed. :D

Personally, it makes my head hurt... Glad that the snake I'm into morphs with only has three proven mutations.

Axanthic/Anerythristic Brooks Kingsnakes. The argument still rages, but I think there's more to it than just axanthic. The normal hatchlings that come from these breedings have bright red sides. I love these blue snakes.
