These are my 2 new babies.
Jiffypop, I AM R E D with envy!! Beautiful Babies!
jiffypop, where did you get your red babies? I would like to get one.
I purchased them from a Michigan vendor who thinks he got them from Mark Bell. He's checking his records for me so that I can trace them back to the breeder.
Hi jiffypop, Did you have to have your tegus shipped to you or were you able to pick them out and take them home?
I saw one of these babies offered for sale at the November Taylor, MI show. I was told that they had another that was being offered for sale the same weekend at the Troy show. I talked to the seller a few days after the shows and asked if he still had them. He did and I had the opportunity to see them both a couple of weeks later at a Science Expo that we participated in. I took them home with me that day.
hey jane,
nice little guys youv got there. where'd you get them from?
havnt spoken to you in awhile, how are things going?
They were purchased from Rob Cook but I'm still trying to find out where he got them originally. I'll do it. I'm pretty good at tracking down heritage since I have so much early practice with my Cyclura.
We are doing alright...at our limit with rescue animals right now. We are caring for 27 Green Iguanas, 5 Savannah monitors, 2 Niles, 3 Columbian Tegus, and 3 Bearded Dragons, among a few others AND all of the snakes. I doesn't leave me as much time as I'd like to spend with my own personal animals but who needs sleep anyway? LOL Thanks for asking about us.
Wow Jiffypop you're amazing, keep up the good work! And you still find time too post? Thanks cuz I don't know how we could get by without your insights. There are few people around who have such a diverse experience with reptiles. Like I know there must really be something about Cyclura's. You've always made me want one and I enjoy sneaking over to there every once in awhile
Congrats on the babies, they're adorable.
I'm not amazing, just always tired and broke! LOL Caring for so many animals, some of which are ill and need rehabilitation, is a lot of work but over the years I've worked out a system and schedule that allows me to get everything done. I have little time for recreation but I'm not complaining...what I do makes me feel good and I really enjoy working with and learning about all of the different species.
As for the Cyclura, they are the amazing creatures!! They are magnificent looking and quite intelligent. They can also become very social and will seek out human companionship. My youngest right now, a male Rhino that turned 2 years old on November 5th, has shown phenomenal growth. I measured him the week after his birthday and he's 34+ inches STL and 14 inches SVL. That's probably 10 inches longer than an average 2 year old. I've done nothing special raising him....just provided proper husbandry and a good diet. Must be all in the genes but he's going to be a monster!!
I have an October hatchling coming soon, another Rhino, and I'm very excited.
This is my 5 year old female, Bubbles.
Hi Jane, your animals are beautiful, who are you getting your new rhino from?; Bob Ehrig called me a couple of weeks ago, with some nice offers...lets see some of those awsome pics that Steph takes..LOL...
..
Thanks Phil. Good to hear from you. I never see you online anymore.
