Sulcata swallowing noise...

copyleftpenguin Dec 09, 2003 09:16 PM

I have a sulcata that is about 10 lbs. I was watching it eat today and noticed that when it swallows, occasionally it makes a noise that sounds like hissing. Its almost as if its struggling to swallow. This doesn't happen too often. Mostly when it has a large amount of food in its mouth. Is this normal? This sulcata is relatively new, so I haven't really observed this sort of behavior before.

Naw, it's normal. They can make noises when eating, pig-like.
Wait till you hear it fart - that's not aways lions roaring
in Africa.

Hello,

We have 2 sister sulcatas about 10" who 2 years ago-both made noises like you describe. They haven't made the noises since and both are the picture of health with no pyramiding either.

Unfortunately, I have yet to hear a Sulcata Fart. I guess I haven't lived!

Sincerely,
Brian
