Is that a wild caught or captive born? How much do they darken up? I've seen an adult pic of one that was real black and almost no visible pattern. Here's a pic of my F1 Guthrie, Kentucky black rat snake.

Is that the female you were talking about?? I bet her and my male would make some decent offspring. Is she about the same size as my male? He is an '01 and probably close to 4.5'.

Feedermouse, nice looking hatchling. They make great pets dont they!!

Yes, she's the one I mentioned to you. She is an '01 CH from a gravid female Dwight collected about 1/2 mile from where he is. She would make a nice match for your male. That's what I was mentioning. Don't let your male see the pic of her. LOL.

I have animals that resemble that I call my high yellow line. They are almost flourescent yellow/green in the light.

He does have alot more "gold" in him than any other black rats I have seen here in KY. He is probably the lightest one I have seen. When I first caught him, I had a hard time with idnntifying him, looked alot like a gray rat, not like the other hatchlings I have seen out here. He hasnt darkened up that much either, so Im assuming he wont get much darker. He has a gray head too. So he may be an intergrade. Either way, he is pretty cool, and is just a big baby to boot!!

Ill take some new pics of him tomorrow and post them.
