how to house multiple leos in same tank?

savigeckolvr Dec 09, 2003 10:30 PM

I am pretty sure my leo is a male, and I was wondering if I would be able to keep him in a 20 long with several females or can you only house females together. Also, how many geckos can you comfortably house in a 20 long, three or four? I just want to do whatever is best for Geico and any other geckos I acquire. Thanks,

Heather

First, you should make sure that Geico is a male. You can house up to 4 leos in a 20 long, but I'd stick with 3. (To prevent territory issues.) Yes, you can house females with 1 male, but, you probably already know this, NEVER house multiple males in the same cage. (Also, plan to have baby leos running around if you house some females with Geico.) Make sure the leos are the same relative size and that theyr'e heavy enough.

I am pretty sure Geico is male- i saw what looks like two little bulges over his tail and above his vent there are a v shaped line of little dots. I will get some pics of him and post before getting any more leos though to get confirmation on this though. I may decide to house only three females in the bigger tank. Thanks!
