pithons Dec 09, 2003 10:57 PM

Hi green anaconda owners. i was just curious of your animals and how much u feed them on a regualr basis. ( any age size snake) are your animals picky eaters? or do they eat whenever offerd food ? do they prefer eating in hide boxes or in water?
how offen do u attemp to feed them? what food items .. live - frozen?
i have a 7'green and she eats 1-lg f/t rat a week sometimes she'll take a 2nd one. sometimes she'll refuse. usually eats under the news paper where she spends alot of her time.

"just woundering how other greens eating programs are like."
Thanks
Rick

My little green guy, about 6 months or so, eats abouy 3 - 4 large mice once a month, in one big feeding. He has nice weight to him, and loves to be held. He holds on SUPER tight when I try to put him up. He likes both his water, and to get under the paper towels I use for substrate. I do the same feeding with my Boa, and they both are very calm and tame, love to be held. I think more food less often helps with there temperment, since they do not expect food all the time.
