Will I be able to do this without any problems

bigdee Dec 09, 2003 11:55 PM

I have 1.1 het for albino boas i plan to breed. I want to know if I add a shelf to this cage which is 4x2x2 would I be able to house both in here for the long run. Also what is the best way to heat this? Heat tape or that new heat cord im seeing now? What do you feel between the 2 heating methods? This is the pic of the cage made from plywood on the bottom of my ackie cage, Snakes are kinda hiding out under the paper as always.

Well, you definitely could do it, but there are multiple problems that can occur from keeping them together 24/7. In the long run without getting into everything, I personally would suggest having seperate cages.

A few potential problems;
Feeding
Cleaning
Stress
Disease

Take care,

Paul

Definitely my vote is seperate cages. No more "who puked?" "who shed?" "who pooped?" and feeding is easier too, you never want to try and feed boas in one cage, they get quite feeding frenzy-ish and even after they eat they might tag their cage mate when they smell the prey on them.

please, i am not trying to be funny. a brick, a candle, vaseline, and a hook? this is too make shift, forget the shelf. get some caging together. get something more stable for both. it will be worth it in the long run. just my 2 cents.

I have to agree with these guys. Worry about proper housing first and foremost.
