The only safe place in my tiger's aquarium is his back!

I took this shot this morning after hearing a whole lot of flailing about in there, soon after feeding time. It was pretty funny. The cricket managed to stay on for a few more minutes, but then got brushed off against one of the branches in the cage, and was gone within ten seconds.

My salamander seems to really like having his picture taken. He just gets mesmerized by the flash, and turns toward the camera!

Great photo. How old is your sal? Aren't they great fun?

Great photo!

Do you worry about him eating the gravel? Or its sharp edges causing trouble? I use only soil and mosses in my terrariums with ambystomids. Maybe its an unecessary worry.

Yeah-- I'd lose the aquarium gravel, and go w/ ESU's "Jungle Mix" for substrate. Tigers just don't crawl around on gravel in the wild. I even use fine aquariumn sand for my tank's aquatic bottom. A turkey baster siphons up waste, but the sand remains. Please treat your sal to a kinder subtrate...
