Question about het ghosts?

aera Dec 10, 2003 10:46 AM

I have a small (02) breeding male that is het for yellow ghost(mark and kim bell line)He is just 500gms and won't stop breeding one of my 2500gm females(not complaining, lol)
Here are my questions:
He shed last week and I unrolled and check out his shed(it was still moist)Upon close inspection,I realized this snake has no pattern in it's shed.It looks like it came from a patternless snake, but his coloring does not look ghostly at all.I was blown away that I couldn't find any pattern and checked it again and again, quite extensively.
Why is his shed clear as a het?
Has anyone ever had a het for ghost shed clear?
Is it possible this is just an ugly example of a ghost?
Just curious if anyone has experienced this. Thanks for reading!

Very interesting and thanks for sharing!

I will not get my first het ghost for a bit so can't really say about hets having any ghost like characteristics or not (even then what can you really say from just comparing the two).

Just thought I would ask though, do you know anything about his parentage? Did he come from a ghost X normal or from a ghost X het ghost? If it was the latter then maybe there is something to your theory about him being an actual homozygous ghost that was mistakenly sold as a het.

I just pulled his paperwork and it is from a ghost X normal breeding.I will shoot some pics and post them in a little while. So many unanswered questions. Thanks!
