Feeding Prob??

chameleon2005 Dec 10, 2003 10:48 AM

Hey guys,

Just a quick question for you`s.

My Male veiled is about one and a half years old now and he is doing fantastic!
Since a baby he has devoured food (crix, locust, waxworms, mealworms)like there is no tommorrow and he would shed at least once every 2-3weeks.
The Problem is he now sheds about every 3 months and doesn`t eat as nearly as much food, He stills feeds (although only on locust!) and drinks every day and he is still Pooing frequently and still as adventurous as ever in his viv, should I be worried?

Thanks In advance

He's just mature and his growth has slowed almost to a stop. If you are feeding him every day switch to every other day. It will keep him more interested. Offer him moths and houseflies so he can really hunt. Also, watch how much supplementing you do. Minerals once a week and vitamins (depending on your gutload) only 1-2 times a month. Also, it's winter so he may be reacting to the shorter days and cooler temps even outside his cage lighting.
