Waste eliminater?

CelinaCorinne Jun 02, 2003 07:48 PM

Ok, so I saw this stuff at Petco "hagen bio care turtle clean" says that it helps reduce solid wastes and leftover food in the tank. Will this stuff help keep my tank cleaner. How safe and effective is it, has anyone tried it? I would appreciate it if anyone has a comment on this.

I don't think that stuff will do any harm to your animals, but it won't do any good either.

In my experience, that stuff does not work at all. It doesn't seem to do anything, and it just a waste of money.

Same here. I've been using for the last 6 months. I don't think it hurts them but unless the effect takes weeks to work, I actually see no difference. Unless someone can definitely say that it makes the water safer for turts, I'd also advise to save your money. I'm not planning on buying any more once my supply runs out.

just clean change the water more often...everybody wants an easy way ourt of water changes for turtles...soem buy huge tanks/ponds
some use chemicals
soem spend zillions on filters
i have doen all of these
(i like many users here have LOTS of turtles) i have found that the only way to really keep the water clean is frequnet partial water chnages.

My girlfriend and I once decided to pay a high school student to come and clean some tanks because the amount we were spending on filters and media and the time we were spending doing water chemical tests made paying somebody actually cheaper..

just change a little of the water alot.
