Looking for quality BTS breeder

Thera Dec 10, 2003 12:24 PM

Hi, I've been shopping around for a good BTS breeder, but I;ve been having a hard time finding one. I figured if anyone would know of good breeders you guys would. Could you point me in the right direction. (Or if you are a breeder yourself, you can contact me via email at ccthera@iastate.edu).

Thanks

hi thera, right now unfortunately it is almost impossible to find any northern or eastern blue tongues, the market is very dry. there are several indonesian varieties for sale in the classifieds. if you want an australian one, there are a couple of breeders. www.captivebred.com. this is tad and donnas site, they are good breeders, but they don't have anything available right now. also, James Wilson sometimes has skinks for sale, and his animals are flawless. the only problem is that he is sporadic when it comes to selling skinks, sometimes he'll have 2 or 3 for sale and other times he won't be selling any. i am currently looking for a female northern myself, and i know it's frustrating. i will actually be breeding on a small scale this time next year, but good luck finding your skink.

Hello,

You might try www.captivebred.com these folks have bred some very nice Northerns and they have pics of all babies they're selling as well as the parents. There prices are quite reasonable too. However, when I purchased my BTS from them about a month ago it was one of only two they had left so they may have sold out of this years stock. Still, they're great breeders and it's nice to buy direct and see the actual animal you're getting as well as it's parents.
