Since everyone is posting pictures, I thought I would post an updated picture of my paludarium. This is a more mature view of the water section, this is probably 14 months after the initial setup.

Very cool, do you keep darts in there?

Yes, The tank houses 3 PDF's, one each of Azureus, Tinc and Leuc. All of the frogs are 1yr. males. I, also, house 3 anoles with them.
I posted some earlier pictures under the title Mixed Species Paludarium Pics several weeks ago.
I just wanted to show an after pic, since the other pictures were of the tank when it was somewhat new.

That is definitely the coolest tank I have ever seen. What size tank is it and how did you set it up? Any more information or pictures would be great.

Thanks, the tank is a 72 gallon Bow Front. This is just the right side of the tank. I posted more information on it back on Nov. 12 - "New Member - Mixed Species Paludarium Pics"
You can find more pictures in the Reptile And Amphibian Photo Gallery under Cages, Terrariums, Ponds, Aquariums; or just do a search on TimsViv.

do you use the actinic for night viewing?

I've got the lights on timers, the actinic comes on in the morning around 8:00am and goes out at 7:00pm. It puts out a pretty white light that accents the blues.
The Repti-Sun 2.0 comes on at 12:00noon and goes out at 10:30pm. It seems to accent the reds. I prefer the look of this bulb while viewing my tank, thus I have this one stay lit during the evening.

The tank is heated by water heaters in the sump.
I've given up on night viewing. I have tried a black light, but it didn't illuminate the tank enough.
Any suggestions for better night viewing bulbs?
Tim
I absolutely love my 75W NightGlo bulb by Exo-Terra. See, I had tried an ESU bulb and being a black light, I couldn't see a thing.
However, the Exo-Terra bulb seems to produce a small amount of light in the red spectrum, allowing you to see everything inside, and doesnt bother the frogs I don't believe. Its not that bright anyway, sort of like a small amount of moonlight.
The cool thing is that all your green plants will reflect only red light, and so you tank looks very very cool at night - bright red plants, and yet my frogs still retain their bright blue color...very easy to see them.

I use a 75w as well. I have tried the moonlight lamps before and I have found they DO disturb nocturnal activity. My geckos were not eating at night because it was too bright. When i switched to the red light, with higher wattage even, it was all back to normal. I have been using this bulb at night now for 18 months with absolutely no problems. the fish sleep. the frogs sleep, all is well. But i have been thinking about CFs and if i switch to them what will I do about the night heat, can i rig a incandescent socket into the hood with the CFs?. What do you all think?

How the hell did you make that? That's the absolute most beautiful tank I have ever seen. Maybe I need to get out more or something but sriously... Anyways, if you could give me any pointers on how you made it... That would be awesome. Also, if you don't mind my asking - How much did the whole setup cost you... I mean plants rocks everything. Thanks for whatever you say.
Champagne,
Thanks. Cut and paste the following link, for some more pictures of the construction process. If it doesn't work send me an E-mail and I can send you the link.
