I was wondering where everyone got there Lamasi from? I am looking at getting some thumbnails and really like the lamasi! I have looked around a little, but haven't found any yet. Also I was wondering if any one was going to the IRBA show this weekend in Pomona? Well thanks for reading this!

Hi,

The standard lamasi are currently a very rare frog in the US hobby and it seems that only a few people are breeding them with any regularity. I obtained my Panguana lamasi from Todd and as far as I know he is the only one breeding that morph in the US (Phill Tan and Tor may produce some occasionally.) I do not believe that either the green or orange legged morphs are in the US yet but I (and others) are working on getting some from breeders in Europe. I believe that many people have bought them from Steve Tarlton (spelling) but only one of his pairs were producing the last time I checked (about a month ago.) If you really want these frogs you should be prepared to pay 150-175 each (Todd for much less) and (in the case of Steve) you can buy a maximum of 6. It looks like a large number of people have the standard morph in the US (they have been here for longer than the Panguanas) but for one reason or another only a few are actually breeding them. If you can risk buying from Europe you should contanct Bill Samples as he will be taking orders sometime soon (his link is at the top of this forum.) He believes that lamasi will be availible on this next trip but is not yet sure. I hope this helps. Also there seems to be a large variation in belly pattern, even between "standard" lamasi so you should not combine frogs untill you are sure that they are the same.
