Wow, must take nerves of steel to shoot a bear.
If you really want to impress someone do it with your bare hands. I only wish that scene in "Powder" was true..
fact of life deal w it.....do u feel pity when ur snake its a rat ok point taken. Dont pass blame on someonene because they hunt....next time u bite into that peice of KFC remember it lived its whole life covered in feces in some mite infested farm...people are so soft and weak these days
thanks man !!

You deal with it dirt. He posted the pic and got a response.
Do i feel pity for rats and mice when i feed my snakes? Ummm no, that's what they eat genious. Did he eat that bear for survival?
I'll remember the conditions as a matter of fact chicken for dinner (called food). Man, now that i know how they lived their entire lives i'll never eat again (what a joke).
Yea i guess i'm soft because i don't wander the woods looking for a bear to shoot for decoration.
If your both so manly then take your @ss in the woods and kill it. That's right your too soft to kill a bear with your hands.
I find it amusing listening to so called hunters justify shooting something that doesn't have a chance to defend itself.
Good arguement DIRT.
First of all, being a hunter myself, I'm pretty sure he didn't just "wander into the woods" and shoot a bear. He probably knows more about that bear than you know about the zits on your butt. Did he have to eat it for survival? Probably not. On that note, did you have to eat that big mac to survive? And the bear didn't have a chance to defend itself? It probably could have ran off at any time, had it known he was there. The fact that it didn't just means he's a good hunter and a good shot. How much of a chance did that cow that provided the hamburger have? Or the pig that provided the bacon? I have seen beef and pork slaughter houses, and believe me, they are nothing but a slaughterhouse. (nothing against anyone who works there, everyone needs a job and wants to eat). There will always be stupid hunters that give the rest of us a bad name, but most hunters I know care more about nature and wildlife than the idiots who whine about how unfair and inhumane it is. Just my two cents. Enjoy your hamburgar. Now, deal with that.
I agree. If you don't like the picture, why don't you write an article to your local PETA chapter. I am sure they would appreciate it. I fish every weekend. I expect that is barbaric too, is it not? Honestly, until you do not eat meat and you never kill any bugs that wander into your house, never kill mice or rats for herps or as pests, never feed of any insects to herps, you need to DEAL. Andy

Easy tree hugger!
Are your snakes supposed to be housed in a piece of plastic instead of living in the jungle? You're pathetic to judge someone else when you should be judging yourself!
Nice pic, nice bear, nice chondro. Actually, I am horrified, you horrible, horrible person. You left a scar on my mind for life, and I am permanently mortified. You can expect a law suit by Monday(Severe emotional trauma!)
lol. Keep up the nice work with those pretty chondros!

add to the motif. Me and two little guys my friend and I caught. We limited on the first two casts after swimming in 10 or so feet of water and ended up catching 3 times our limit. Let all the others go of course.

I dont mind hearing all of the other openions, good or bad.
did I do something wrong???
thanks.

The initial post was fine.
However even with the best of intentions, good posts can go a bit sour (sometimes a lot sour) and unexpectedly.
When a highly-charged topic appears (in this case 'hunting/hunters') it has the potential to create a lot of long-thread flame wars that push relevant information about the actual forum topic right out the window. Sometimes these 'fights' can make the forum a not-so-nice neighborhood for people to want to visit.
As such,
There is nothing wrong at all with people posting the occasional off topic or divergent type discussions on the regular discussion forums as long as it does not create a noticable disruption to the members on that forum.
If an off topic/divergent subject matter does create a problem then there is the choice of either moving it to the appropriate forum, moving it to the Open Discussion forum (where almost anything goes), or simply pulling the entire discussion or just the 'fight' parts off the forum completely depending on which is the better course of action.
In this case, the more appropriate action was to move the conversation over to the Open Discussion forum rather than pulling the 'bickering' portions of it off.
