Substrate question.

I bought a 40 gal breeder size tank for my yearling JCP.(I don't intend to breed, she's just a pet.) I want to make it as natural as possible with branches for her to climb on, etc. Is the reptile bark ok to use with JCP? I use that with my corns and milk an they are fine with it. Right now she is in a 20 gallon long with newspaper because she had mites and I didn't have any reptile bark. I don't like the newspaper. I know it's easier and cheaper to use but I want to make her bigger tank more natural for her. Thanks for any replies..

I like cypress mulch, it's even more natural looking than bark and holds in humidity pretty well. Going out on a limb here... my snakes usually have no trouble eating on it. As a plus, it's phenomenally cheap.

Peter: It's OK, I'll handle it. I read a book about something like this.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?
