I don't use any kind of 'humid hide' and my corns do just fine. I don't even mist them. They always shed just fine. I have a couple water bowls in each of my corns. With the screen top, I've read you can put a plastic zip lock baggie or plastic over half of the top and that will help keep some humidity in. Mine have never had problems shedding.

I'll be the first to admitt that I am not the most knowlegable when it comes to Corns, I've only had mine for a few months, but I have had a humidity issue in the past.

When my snow (God rest his little soul) and amelanistic corns both had problems shedding it was because of low humidity levels.

Both of my enclosuers had screen tops at the time. I bought a humidity gauge for each enclosure and covered the screen tops with plastic wrap, leaving only about 4" uncovered.

I try to keep the humidity at around 50%. When my corns eyes start to cloud I raise the humidity to about 65%. This can easily be done by spraying the inside walls of the enclosure with a spray bottle of water a couple times a day.

Since then I have not had any problems with my corns.
