Graved, sick or odd????

gabeval Dec 11, 2003 02:28 AM

I have a female maybe 7 mo old she is and was fat. A week ago she started digging so I put her in with some soil but it wouldn’t hold a tunnel. The second day put her in good soil & she dug a good hole when we saw her out side of it we dug it up looking for eggs. (the hole wasn’t filled in and she could have been taking a break ##%%*&@) 3rd day she did nothing. 4th day she dug a new one and has been in it for 5 days. She is alive and seems ok??? I didn’t feel eggs but she is fat and I don’t know??????????
Any advice??? Leave her alone, do something?????
TIA

She may be a bit older than you think and trying to brumate. I would take her out of the hole and get her in for a fecal and check up. If things look good, then just put her back in her cage and let her rest.

Has your female been with a male? If not, it is not likely that she is ”with eggs” when she is so young. Usually they are a bit older when they lay infertile eggs.

If your female has been with a male she could be gravid… but she is way too young. Females shall be at least 18 months old the first time.

Listen to BeginnersBasics advice and take fecal to the vet and see if she is healthy. If she is she might want to brumate.
