What ever happened to the two deformed BD's.......one was named socket.

BigFil Dec 11, 2003 11:14 AM

I know one was named Socket and I can't remember what the other one was named. They both only had one eye and one had a really deformed spine. Just curious to see how they are doing or what ended up happening.

Socket is growing everyday in leaps and bounds! But Lumpy doesn't grow much. He's been at 5 inches for over 2 months now and stays around 6 or 7 grams. He's such a tiny guy. It's like his body refuses to grow. However, he does chase down and eat crickets several times a day. I've even caught him munching on some greens! We are just keeping him happy and comfortable for as long as he wants to hang around with us. When he leaves us he will be remembered for his unique personality and strong will to live.

This is a photo of Socket and Lumpy that was taken a few weeks ago. You can see how big Socket is now compared to Lumpy. Socket weighs in at 35 grams and is almost twice as long as Lumpy.

A few weeks ago we had to separate them. It was really hard to do because all they have are eachother. They have never been with other dragons and probably don't know that they are even deformed. Socket was just too big and he would often squash Lumpy to get to the basking spot. I'm sure he didn't mean to hurt Lumpy, but we couldn't take any chances on one hurting the other. Now Lumpy lives with Tina, our three legged beauty from Lisa at Beginners Basics.

Here's a photo of Socket just waking up in the morning. He loves his bran box that we made for him.

And here's another one of Socket sitting in my husbands hand... he's such a ham for attention!

If you'd like to see and read more about Lumpy, Socket, and Tina too click on the link below then click on Photos. All three of them have their own special photo pages on my website. Have a great day!

I didn't know she had her own page LOL

Looks like she is doing great!!!!

Seems I didn't find the culprit because I have two more from the same clutch with one leg the same as Tiny Tina's (Both are also back legs just like hers)

These two will be staying with me forever. They get along great together and are healing well.

Glad Tina is doing so good for you ... I think I chose the right home and mommy for her

I'm glad you sent her to me too! She is so very very special to us. I'm so sorry that you have two more beardies with bitten legs like Tina's. That's too bad. But I'm glad they are doing ok and that you are going to hang on to them. If they are anything like Tina they have already won your heart.

Love,
Veronica
