I am going to be going on vacation on the 18th till the 30th. Would it be ok to buy rosy reds, ghost shrimp and guppies and put them in the tank for Oregano? I already have plants in the tank. Will he be ok till I come back? If so how many do I buy? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

Many people, if they aren't going to be gone for long, will just feed the turtles well in the days leading up to vacation, and then let them go without. Usually they do just fine with no problems. Since you are going to be gone for more like a week and a half, adding the feeder items should be fine...it will give him something to work on and tide him over. Otherwise, many feel that they can go for about two weeks, just fine.

I made the mistake once of having a friend take care of it while I went on my honeymoon. She over fed it and two weeks later I came home to a pudgy little turtle!!
