Housing Uros/Cross Breeding

Mike3 Jun 02, 2003 09:23 PM

I have 2 malis in a 5L 3W 2H, and i want to know how many more female uros i can put in there.

I have 1 male and 1 female mali, and i want to get a few more uros that i could cross breed with my mali male or a few more mali females. If I can cross breed what type of uros are they and how much do they costs, or how many mor mali females can i put with my present male and female.

JMHO, but I would not personally cross breed. From a housing standpoint, a trio is usually the best, one male and two females. You probably want to get a female close in size to the one you have. As far as a close species of uro most similar to the mali in terms of where they come from, I believe it is the Moroccan (u.acanthinurus). These are also the most aggressive towards one another, so usually are housed alone. I am not an expert by any means, this is just my opinion. Good luck!
