spotted dwarf python?? anyone know about these??

delacrooshweez Dec 11, 2003 06:28 PM

I am planning on getting a new snake and my original take was a mexican black king snake, but i went to the local pet shop today and saw a spotted dwarf python and it really interested me...originally i wanted a ball python but i dont think id be able to handle the size when it gets to an adult...so then i decided on the MBK, but now that i saw the spotted python i think i might want to get that instead........are these snakes good pets?? temperment, feeding, personality, etc?....and is $99 a good price for one??...any feedback would be appreciated..thanks.

Did they have a scientific name on the cage? I don't think there's a snake that is "properly" called a spotted dwarf python, but the rough spotted python(Antaresia maculosa) does stay small, makes a decent pet, and $99 is right about the middle of the prices I have seen, so I would call it fair.(if that is indeed the snake you are looking at)
Hope this helps

oh i jus called it a spotted dwarf cuz the guy said it was a dwarf species..but the name was just a spotted python...i dont know much about these snakes so i jus put dwarf in there jus incase there was a regular sized and a dwarf..but i guess its the same...there was no scientific name...but do these snakes have good temperments??...i know all snakes can have different personalities, but in general.
