Not Shedding on Tail???

JLJ2018 Dec 11, 2003 07:22 PM

I've had my BD for about two months now and when I got him his tail was darker than the rest of him about halfway down...like it hadn't shed before. Now he's shedding and it looks like that area isn't going to shed again, from halfway down the tail to the tip. Is this something to be worried about?

Dino went through kind of the same thing. His body shed, and then it took like a month for his legs and tail to shed, although it looked like it was going to happen any day. They have finally shed now, I guess just keep an eye on it, I think when it is ready to shed, it will. I have never heard of a constricted tail, anyone know what that means?

It is an area when the unshed skin pinches in around the appendage (usually toes, tail tips, something small) and cuts of the blood supply to that area resulting in the area dying and eventually falling off. I have never heard of a constriction that high up on the tail. You can tell a constriction by the fact that it pinches in.
