Tail tip problem. Advice needed...

RaderRVT Dec 11, 2003 07:26 PM

Hi, Today when I was playing with my new beardie I noticed what looks like the early start of a constriction about 1/2" from the tip of his tail. Any suggestions how to keep this from becoming a full blown constriction and taking my beautiful baby's tail tip off ?

Thank you in advance!

P.S I decided to name him Fuego (pronounced Fuh-way-go. It means fire in spanish)

Hi Stacey-

I had the same exact problem with one of my really nice red male babies. I was sure that it was going to constrict all the way, and he would lose the tip of his tail. I was told that it you put good-old Neosporin or any other antibacterial cream on it, it would save it.

I tried it on my guy, and sure enough it came out of it looking great, (and it was pretty far gone before I tried it.) It took several weeks of applying it at least once a day (just rub it in like a lotion)- but it worked for me.

Good Luck-

David
