Every once and a while this question pops up in random forums...
The theory behind the myth is that the worm can chew its way out of your lizards stomach and will actually pop out its side.
But it's all jibba-jabba. Teeth and stomach acid are pretty quick killers of insects.
The only reason an insects head would have to be cut off is to prevent it from biting your pet as it tries to eat it. Some people do it for specific species, but I don't know what kind of lizard you'd have to do this for.
>>kinds of insects as a snack what do you give them?? I am getting my first 2 Beardie this Tuesday. They are cricket free babies and have heard that its ok to give them the occasional silk worm or super worm I believe. At what age do I introduce them to them?? And once at a pet shop I was told that if I gave Beardies meal worms-I believe- that I would have to cut the heads off first before feeding them. Is that the case for all worms??
