My gecko will not poop in her tank. She hasnt for the past week. She waits till I bring her outside the tank. I took her out tonight to test. She usually goes around 6:00 when the lights go off. I brought her out at midnight tonight. She pooped on the paper towel i sat her on. What the heck am i gonna do about this. I cant bring her out every night to go to the bathroom. I have to do that enough with the dogs.
Thanks for reading.

That would probably be the easiest thing to try, save some poop, then put it where you want her to go. Otherwise it looks like you might be stuck walking the gecko if you don't do some tweaking LOL.

I've heard some funny stories about leos and their poop habits. I had a bit of an odd situation myself.

I had a battle over poop with my 4 leos who liked pooping in a rock den instead of on top of the paper towel in the poop corner. Ok, I thought maybe they didn't like my choice of poop corner, so I switched it around for them, but they still pooped in the hide regardless of where I put it. Argh. I eventually got tired of washing the poop off the inside and bottom of the hide every night, so I took the hide out leaving only paper for them to poop on in each corner. Geckos weren't pooping at all now. Hm. So I thought. They have a 12inch black humid hide that I first had sitting near the center of the tank half on the UTH, half on the cooler side. I found out after lifting the cover to spray it down, that it was all full of poop on the cool side, with the geckos sleeping on the warm side inside the humid hide. I thought geezus! After weeks of endless humid hide cleanings, I then stacked the humid hide on top of their big cave that's over the UTH area where the whole thing now stays warm. They didn't poop in there anymore after that because they'll only poop on the cooler side of the tank.

Now, they weren't pooping at all, and they all eat like pigs. I tore the tank apart looking for poop - No poop.

Almost as soon as I put the rock den back in a corner of the cool side, they pooped in it. I got the feeling then that maybe they needed to poop in privacy or something LOL. They're all good natured and friendly towards me and eachother, often like to be picked up, eat and sleep out in the open when I'm there, so I couldn't figure out why they were doing this, I still don't really know. To make it easier to wash, I had this square dark plastic container that I cut a doorway into and sat it on the poop paper in the corner, and boy, they really like to poop in there. That's the first place they go after they wake up. I kept the rock den out of the tank for awhile, then eventually put back in the other corner, where it's been poop free ever since. I don't know how *normal* it is for geckos to have their own bathroom LOL, I've never heard of this, only that most peoples leos just get on out there and poop, but not mine. LOL
