They are definitely a beautiful species, and a bit on the lively side as far as handling goes. I would say this is a species that does not particularly enjoy handling, but will tolerate it. In some cases, they will excrete as an initial response to being handled (just a warning if you keep these guys in areas where there is carpeting), but rarely actually bite (I have 12 of these guys, one of which is definitely a little nipper, perhaps lunger, but other than that one they are all fairly easy to hold). They are an active snake during handling, therefore, if you want something a bit more laid back (and tolerable to handling) and a bit more exotic than a burm, perhaps consider an olive python. Cheers
