Cleaning question

Ody Dec 12, 2003 12:02 PM

I just got some new dragons (pics as soon as my digicam batteries charge back up) and want to get them in their new vision cage. I cleaned it out last night with an approximate 10% bleach soloution. Just want to make sure I did it good enough. I sprayed the whole thing down, let it sit for a minute, then wiped it out. Also washed out the rag and wiped the whole thing down again with just water. Then I let it sit out overnight (approximately 10 hours now). Is that good enough of a cleaning? Is that long enough for the tank to air out?

Thanks!

Any tips on taking care of some dragons that were just shipped today? It was pretty cold here when they arrived, but they seem to be warming up nicely. Do I need to wait a while for them to warm up before offering them food?

cleaning proucts should be left on a surface a miimum of 10 minutes up to 30 minutes in order to be effective. When using bleach OR amonia (never mix) always make sure there are no fumes or smell left over that could kill your pet. If you think the smell is gone, close the cage and turn on the heat then come back an hour later and stick your head in the cage and see if it still smells.

I advise my customers, after unpacking their Beardie to give it a warm bath for 10-20 minutes then pat it dry and place it in its enclosure under the heat lamp. It may take a few days to settle in and eat but food may be offered the first day after an hour or so under the heat, no problem.
