Ideal Temperature? and UVB question

ontrane Dec 12, 2003 03:58 PM

What is the ideal temperature for my tank? Also, I just got a UVB light, but it doesn't produce as much heat as the basking light I usually use. Should I use both lights in different sections of the tank?
Thanks of course,
rl

I keep my tank at 75 degrees. I think low to mid 70's is recommended unless you have very young turtles...then warmer. I use a UVB light AND a basking light because the UVB gives off no heat. I keep the basking area around 90. My two lights are shining on the same spot in the tank.

Hope that helps.
