i just got my beardie today, this is his first time w/ pellets and when i came home he had eaten some, and went potty in the dish. i figure it's still a plus that he tried. he is quite the feisty fellow, jumping for my hand. i know he will take some time. hopefully i can attach a pic. he is alot nicer/more yellow than in the pic.
he doesn't look like he has missed many meals

the picture doesn't do much justice but until i get my own digital camera it's what I have. One weird thing though, I have him in a 50 gal. and he keeps going from his basking spot to the cool side scratches at the glass for 1-2 mins., then goes back to basking. I dont know if he is seeing his reflection or what, any ideas? he has eaten some greens, and 2 waxworms already. I take that as a good sign.
to see how far he can go, or something outside the tank is getting his attention.
We also have some that will do that when they have to go to the bathroom, or just want out to be handled (LOL, make sure which one it is, before you get him out)

that is the side he has gone to the bathroom on, but is was earlier in the day. I still think he is a little cranky for the handling part. thanks for the reply, it's good to hear that it's not just you sometimes!

He is really pretty! I can tell from his puffed appearance and black beard he is a fiesty one!! Have fun with him!
