the scales between my tegu's eyes and further down to his lip are getting dark, i was worried that he did not shed them in his previous cycle so i tried the olive oil method i read about but got no results. i've only had him for about 4 months, and all the pics i see of adult tegus have white faces....i was expecting the bright green to turn white with age, and not get darker...
he just recently started eating fruits, he gets half an orange and a turkey meatball every day with occasional mealworms/waxworms, and i've also got shed ease coming in the mail.
should i be worried or is this normal?

Is he an Argentine B&W tegu? If he is maybe he's a black headed morph as compared to the white headed morph we see around here so often. It might help if you post some pics.

I have a black headed male from Bert Langerwerf and he has a picture of a female on his website at agamainternational.com ... check them out and see if yours looks like these.
