HI all,
I had posted a message a bit ago about oily water. I can't seem to find that post on the forum. anyway, I tried putting a paper towel in my net and I skimmed most of it out. But a few days later its back and now it seems worse, as in now there are rainbows in the water... like when it rains and the streets puddle up and u can see oil in the puddles cause of a rainbow. Is there anything I can buy to get rid of this? When my RES bask I notice their shells have the rainbow reflections also. And is this harmful to the turts?
They will also be a lil over a year in January, so I have been feeding them every other day, is that ok? They have been shedding as in so should I cut that down even more? I give fresh veggies when I buy them and I am looking into the plants to keep in the tank.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks a million!
Jodi Have a great day

The oil could be from a number of things.. feeder fish, plants, and even pellets. The problem with oil and filters is, oil floats on water, and the filter usually can't pull the oil down to the element. Real plants can help out, or aim the filter up at the surface slightly and it might mix up the oils in the water enough.
