Shedding Problems! Pls Advise

tc_legacy Dec 13, 2003 11:13 AM

My female gecko is having problems shedding the skin off her toes. I bought this gecko a couple months ago and she had already lost several toe tips . . . I'm guessing her first owners didn't provide her with enough humidity during sheds. This is her second time shedding since I bought her and she has not yet lost anymore digits. I saw she was going to shed a day or so ago so I've been misting her moist hide (and the tank!) like crazy to try to assist the process. She has shed most everything now, except for a little bit on her nose and on her toes. I've been letting her soak in warm water and tried using a wet que-tip to gently rub the non-shed skin. Some of the skin has loosened off but there's still a decent amount on her back toes (which up till now were almost whole).

What can I do, that I haven't already done? Please advise! Thanks.

Hey

You can use tweezers to gently pull of the skin on the toes i reccomend soaking here in warm watter in your bath tub or something for about 30 minutes before doing so. Make sure the watters only like 1/2inch deep give her something to lay on in the tub or she will go crazy lol
