I have a 1.2 redfoots. The male is a 13" LTC, one female is 10" CB and the other is 8" CB. Are the two females at a safe size to breed them? Thanks.
You can see them all pigging in this picture.

This is kind of an odd question considering that I really don't believe there is a tortoise police to stop them from breeding in the wild. I would think any size to where they are capable of producing eggs is a 'safe' age to breed.
Do you think you can provide a contact for the person who raised those tortoises? I'd love to contact him/her to find out their methods and how long it took them to get to that size.

Trying to keep the fun in Chelonian care
The smallest female I got at a reptile show (ETHS), I dont rember the guys name I got her from, but he said he raised her on a mixed diet of fruit and vegies. The male and female I got from a guy in Dallas, and he didnt say how he raised them. Sorry.

I would say there probably all wild caught, they could be c.b. don't get me wrong but there shells look way to perfact to be c.b. but could be wrong, I work with red-foots and my adults are similer to yours and i know all mine are imports, the smaller female looks a little young to breed and the other female looks ready or very close

Thanks for the info. I know that the small female is a CB because I got her at a show that allowed only CB reptiles. I know this is no guarantee, but.... The other two I am just going on the guys word. I think I will breed them this spring then.
