Talked me into it

maizeysdad Dec 13, 2003 02:40 PM

Thanks for all the input. You talked me into it. Bought an '03 CB Ball today at a local one man herp show. Looking forward to many years of herping joy.

One question - He said most ball won't eat f/t. Is that accurate? He feeds f/t to everything else, but live to balls.

Thanks.

I don't think that's totally true. It can be work getting most of them to switch over and some mightn not ever. As long as it's thawed out and warmed up enough I just wiggle and my BP goes for it.

My little female was hesitant but I finally got her to accept f/t. Much safer than a live mouse that could potentially bite. Both of my snakes still try to constrict the mouse or rat, though, thinking it's alive!

Congrats! It can take some work, but most BP's CAN be conditioned to take F/T, in my opinion.
