Some old pictures...what to put up for the photo contest...

georgio Dec 13, 2003 04:05 PM

Hey guys,

Just noticed there was a photo contest and I have sooo many pictures to choose from. Was wondering if people would give their opinions on which one they like the best? Some of these aren't photo contest material but just some older pictures that are cute and/or funny.

Here's the one I'm leaning towards for entry into the photo contest:

This is a cute one of Nebu:

Here's an edited picture I thought was funny. It's a huuuuge Uromastyx =)

An old one of Boulder, looking really fat after a big meal

My girlfriend Sarah feeding Boulder a treat

The last two are of Boulder and my cat Oliver. They are unique pictures and I am contemplating putting one up for the photo contest but I don't think they show just the topic quite as well as the first picture. What do you guys think?

The last one and the 5th one are my favorites. The others are great but they stand head and shoulders above the rest imo.

I love the pictures of your cat and uro!! I woke my husband up from a dead sleep to come look. For artistic quality, my vote is for the headshot of Boulder. It is a really nice photo.

Thanks Stacey. Glad you liked the pictures. Also, I wanted to thank you again for your help with Pebbles. Sadly, she still is not better and I'm going to take her in for bloodwork on monday. Everything that's happened with her has been really hard for me because of all the rising costs so close to christmas (she's already up to more than $500) but I'll do anything to get her better. She is now showing some reddish discoloration on her hand and arm and it is still hard to the touch it is so swollen. Someone in the herp health forum suggested it may be septicemia. Hopefully I can get this figured out and have her in good health soon.

Sorry to hear she's not doing better and about the bills so close to Xmas. With the redness, I would septicemia is definately a possibility. She may have to have intralesional injections if this is the case. You'll be vet nurse too by the end of all this .

Take care and good luck with Pebbles,

I like Boulder with the cat, those are great. But I think you are selling short the picture of Boulder on the beach, when he looks like Godzilla.

The second one seems the coolest of that group, I say either put a pic of boulder and your cat in, or the second one of him on the beach

My favorites are the Boulder headshot in the first group and the second beach picture (no people in the background). My total favorite is the second one with Oliver, but I think your right about it not showing off the proper subject!

The one of Boulder on the beach. It is a good compromise between uniqueness (not many uromastyx get to run around at the beach =) and a nice picture of a uromastyx as the contest calls for. The headshot is definitely a nice shot but it doesn't have as much "flare" I don't think. The one of him and Oliver are probably my favorite but the picture is kind of dominated by the cat. I wish I could put up more than one. It was fun to look through all the pictures of him again. I felt like a proud, obsessive dad with too many pictures of his kid. Oh well, what can I say, I love the big lug.

DOH forgot all about those great beach pics! I think you chose well, great shots.

Boulder never ceases to amaze me. He looks so comfortable in every picture: no worries! You're lucky to have such a character like him.

Booger can't behave like that.
