So I've had my female Sikorae, Béla, for a while now ... definitely long enough to be well adjusted. She's eating well (she's a fatty!), and is very active at night.
Every now and then (maybe once or twice a week at most), I'll take her out of the enclosure for a minute or two, just to examine her and make sure she is being healthy. She is as docile as can be, and does not object to climbing onto my hand at all (I never force her onto my hand, although I sometimes find a little *nudge* on the tail to be helpful
)!
However, WITHOUT FAIL she always manages to "leave me a little present" every time she is out of the cage!
Do you think that this is caused by stress? She does not seem to otherwise be stressed at all when I handle her. She does not try to escape from me, her breathing is slow (normal), and she likes to jump onto my face!
It's not like a sudden "scared the crap out of" thing either. It seems like she knows what she's doing, takes her sweet time to sprawl out, and do her duty. It's predictable, and I was *almost* in time to catch it with a Kleenex this time.
Perhaps she has just learned to associate me as "the toilet."
Anyways, please share if you have had similar experiences, or any comments about this rude behavior!
