Captive frogs are not toxic as their toxins are acquired through their food source in the wild. The insects that they feed from contain alkaloids from plants and are delivered to the frogs which in turn convert them to a usable form. And, as for mixing Phyllobates with Dendrobates, I'm all for it as long as plenty of room is given and the frogs in question are nearly the same size. I've housed D. azureus with P. aurotaenia in the past wil no ill effects at all. Being from 2 different genus' they cannot cross.
