GTP reading....

Cfoley Dec 13, 2003 09:56 PM

Richard A. Ross and Gerald Marzec
The Reproductive Husbandry of Pythons and Boas

Does anyone own, have read, or even heard of this book?

I was referred to get this book by a friend who has bred GTPs successfully. He really seems to rely on this book, and says its very accurate, and worth buying. It is an expensive book.

Anyway, any feedback of this publication would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Chris

Focusing your readings especially on GTP you have to looking for those references:
1°) Der Grune Baumpython di Weier&Vitt (Erpeton) GREAT!!!
2°) The guide to owing tree boas and tree pythons di Mazorling (T.F.H.) NOT SO GOOD
3°) The green tree python and emerald tree boa di Kivit&Wiseman (Kirschener&Seufer Verlag) GOOD!
4°) The complete chondro di Maxwell (ECO publishing) GREAT!!!

I have never read the book, but I can tell you that I have Greg Maxwells The Complete Chondro. One reason I would suggest this book is not only because its a great book, but because its specific to the species, and was written over the past year instead of in 1990? Someone correct me if Im wrong on the date of the other book. Thats a ton of breeding and years of more knowledge about breeding GTP's, so in my opinion its a no brainer, plus it comes from one of the best breeders along with all the knowledge of other top notch breeders.

The other book might be a pretty good book and could possibly give other successful ways of breeding these beauties. And thats not always a bad thing. Having several different ways to breed a certain type of snake and then having the chance to decide which will work best for you.
