Sorry I have not had gotten back to you about this. I drove back to Salem, VA to see the best Exotiv Vet in the area, Dr. Vanessa Rolfe. Dr. Rolfe had seen one of my snakes before. after examining the snakes Dr. Rolfe explained what the problem was stating "Petechiae were seen n the ventral aspect of the snake, in a fashion consistent w/ a bacterial infection. This can be significant due to the likely systemic nature of the infection and can lead to death or significant illness if not treated in time." I recieved two medications for each snake that I must give to them by injection! at least the snakes are being good sports about the whole thing. I asked Dr. Rolfe about the likely hood that I could have caused this problem in the two days that I had the snake and she replied it was not my fault. I asked for a letter to give to the pet shop where I bought the snake. She wrote me a very detailed and agressive letter to give to the shop. When I gave the letter to the shop (the same shop that has sold me the other three ball pythons of which 1 lived) and the manager, fearing a lawsuit, is going to pay for the vet visit and the medications. I, however, feel the manager should look into helping the other sick ball pythons in the store instead of throwing money at the problem.
thanks for your concern!
