Oatmeal for infants will work, but it is best to have a variation in substrate ingredients, such as a mixture of: wheat bran, oatmeal or oat bran, chicken mash-(non-medicated types), pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, plain alfalfa pellets & various other additional-nutritional ingredients. Many mixtures are listed in this forum or on websites on mealworm culture.
Rice baby cerial is real good as well. The important item in baby cerial is calcium. Baby cerials are high in calcium which most lizards and animals that will be eating the meal worms, have a problem with in captivity.

It retains moisture, sinks down to the bottom where it clumps into hard chunks, and it's actually not that nutritious. Things like sesame seeds and flax seeds have a much higher calcium content.
Try using 10-grain cereal and add other things to it.
