I dont give my leos a night time drop. Although the room that I keep them in (a room in the basement) does get a bit cooler in the winter time so the air temp in the room does cool off after I shut the light off.

I also keep the room a bit warmer by using a space heater at night after the light in the room is shut off and it cools down.

I just keep mine at the same temps and everyone is fine.

If your gecko is housed in a tank and you are using an UTH and a dome light on top, just switch your dome light to a red bulb or something to give off a little extra heat at night if the room cools down, if you want.

i give my gecko a slight drop, go from a 50 watt bulb to a 40 watt, not really purposely. Id run 50/50 too i dont see to much of a importance, i believe the light controls the day night cycle and not really the temp while it can but not so much so.

Who told you to give them lower temps at night, and what is that supposed to do for them? I guess I just don't get the reasoning. As long as they have natural ambient light they know when day and night is and have natural day-night cycles and seasons. I don't do anything to the heat set-up, though the air in my house does naturally tend to cool down later at night, so the cool sides are naturally cooler, but they still have their regular belly heat on the warm side and in their warm hides. All my gex get natural ambient light, so they know when it is day and night. It seems to me the geckos should have an 88-90° warm spot available at all times, so they can digest their food and thermoregulate as makes them most comfortable. They always can use the cool side if they want cooler temps.
