jerseyboy Dec 14, 2003 11:49 AM

hi all,

someone just gave my son a kit from animal planet with this little set up for leopard frogs. You are supposed to mail in this coupon and they send you 2 tadpoles. right now I have a wtf, but i don't know anything about leopard frogs. Any set up and care info or links to a good site would be appreciated

Trash the kit. It is useless. They need AT LEAST a 20 gallon long tank that is half water half land. Water needs to be well filtrated and cleaned every week or so. Substrate of bed a beast with hidespots and plants will work well. Search the forum too, and you will find more info. Andy

Leopard frogs are really hard to keep. They're very skittish and jumpy, and need very large and heavy enclosures. I'm sad that Animal Planet would sell one of those kits, I've seen a few and they're pretty bad.
