Hey,

I was wondering how people feed their uros lentils and split peas.
I already have some I bought for him but they seem so hard straight out of the bag I dont see how he could eat it.
Do those of you who give your uros lentils and split peas boild them or something before feeding them or do you give it straight out of the bag????
I also wanted to make the pieces smaller but I cant even cut them theyre so hard.

I put my dry lentils and split peas through the blender to break them up. Uro's generally have really strong jaws and can chew them up at appropriate sizes.

right out of the bag, they were crunching on them this morning. I have had no problems feeding this way. Good luck.

The blender idea sounds like it could work,
the reason Im worried is because my guy is only about 12 grams,
and when I first pt some in the cage he went after them but then I found lentils and split peas all over suggesting he couldnt 'chew' them.
Ill try the blender idea thought

I have a coffee grinder bought specifically for use with beans and split peas (no kidney beans). Green lentils I might grind for a teeny thing like yours, but red ones should be fine as they are.

yeh just to add coffe bean grinder is wayyy better than other blenders ive noticed, even my $10 grinder works amazing, just another 2 cents
