I still have a baby that is vomiting about an hour after she eats, she wants to eat but can't keep it down. I am going to contact the pet store where I got her to see a vet but I want to arm myself with as much knowledge as possilbe. She has some blue-green on her mid stomach, is this a sign of something wrong? Thank you.

Nasty parasite that has no successful treatmnt yet (although one is in the works) The blue spot on the belly is a tell-tale sign.

Yes, crypto can make geckos vomit. But sometimes babies will vomit just because they are hungry and have eyes bigger than their stomachs. They generall learn pretty fast. Try feeding just one or two appropriately-sized prey items at a time and give her 6 hours to digest before feeding again. Make sure the warm side is 90° so she can digest the food. The blue spot on her belly may just be her liver, visible through the skin.

I waited 24 hours between feedings and it was only 2 small crickets.I actually thought that I had to much heat, turned it down a little. I also have been using leopard gecko dusting, I thought maybe that could upset her stomach. She has an appointment at the vet tomorrow morning ( that is the best I could do). If she has this crypto, I got her and another one at the pet store , could this be caught by my other one? Thank you.

If it is crypto, it would almost certainly already have been transmitted to the other one if they are in the same enclosure or were ever in the same enclosure (for example at the petstore), or if you handled one and then the other without washing your hands. Crypto is highly contagious and can even be transmitted by air, people have had it transmitted to a roomful of geckos.

Crypto is always fatal, but other things besides crypto can make babies vomit, so don't give up hope. Did you get the gecko at Petco? They have had many cases of selling crypto-infected geckos. Not a safe place to buy a gecko.

What is the temp on the warm side? Do you have a thermometer in there? You need one.

Yes I got them both from Petco but they had really nice clean tanks, so I thought it would be fine. I have a temp that I was putting into the low 90's because 1 was not eating and someone on here thought it could be to low temps.I have taken back down.
The one that is sick is back at Petco so that there vet can look at it, policy under the 15 day guarantee. If she has it then all the Geckos there do. I know that I have not had her long but I just feel in love with her extra sweet personality.

It is so sad all the people that come hear having bought geckos at Petco and they die. Any gecko can have a sweet personality. If you want to avoid heartbreak, buy one (or two) online or at a reptile show if you don't have a reputable reptile pet store in your area.

Good luck, and if she doesn't make it, don't let the experience turn you off from geckos. You just need to get one from a source you can trust where it will be healthy. NOT petco or petsmart or any chain store like that.

Be SURE to completely STERILIZE the enclosure before putting a new gecko in there. Bleach first, then ammonia. Throw out any sand or bake it at 500°. Wash all cage furniture in bleach. [bleep]l driftwood.
