We have 2 females and they are both really nice and easy to work with. They are about 10 feet and almost 3 years old. The male is around 6 feet. They were aggressive as babies but have really become great snakes. Thanks

Lovely looking girl. Has the calico now been totally proven? Is there facts and figures to show that calico to calico produces calico?

If so, how long does it take for them to reach the calico stage?

Also, has anyone given evidence on why some calicos from the wild, have reverted back to dark, drab snakes?

Yea I was wondering the same! has there ever been a W/C calico baby captured?? I feel they turn Calico with age, correct me if I'm wrong. For sure there are some awsome looking animals in captive care here in the US..but what really has been proven in the morph??

I have seen 2 calicos, both females. Both captured around 10ft and both have been kept in vivariums with access to lighting. In the space of 2 years they have become almost completely normal. There is still speckling, and an oddity about the pattern. I also know someone else with a calico female, about 10ft, this has always been in a dark vivarium and has kept all its colour.

That is all I know, but would certainly like to know more. Has anyone in the States had theirs go dark? If not, are the vivariums dark or do they have access to light? Is anyone even willing to test it? Put a light tube in the tank and see if it darkens withing the next few months??
