Indigo part of the common name of 2 subspecies of Drymarchon species.

There are range maps availble in the various Field Guides to Reptiles... in other words, you'll need to go to a library or book store to get the range map.

The Hierarchy is like this (under current taxonomy):

Kingdom- Animalia
Phylum- Chordata
Subphylum- Vertibrata
Class- Reptilia
Order- Squamata
Suborder- Serpentes
Superfamily- Xenophidia
Family- Colubridae
Subfamily- Colubrinae
Genus- Drymarchon
Species- corais
Subspecies-
corais (Yellowtail Cribo)
caudomaculatus (no common name)
couperi (Eastern Indigo Snake)
erebennus (Texas Indigo Snake)
margaritae (Margarita Island Cribo)
melanurus (Blacktail Cribo)
orizabenzis (no common name)
unicolor (Unicolor Cribo)
rubidus (Mexican Redtail Cribo)

So for instatance, the Eastern Indigo Snake's scientific name would be Drymarchon corais couperi. The Yellowtail Cribo's scientific name would be Drymarchon corais corais.
